Healing Sketch #15

Hello.

I guess I had babies on my brain thanks to this week's 'Illustration Friday' topic.
I started doodling the baby and then everything else around him like the pillows, the toys and the butterfly almost seemed to just draw themselves in (if you know what I mean)!

:)

Not sure yet if this is going to be my entry for this week.
Although it would be fun to do this in colour, with lots and lots of patterns!

Hmm.

:)

Cheers,
Radha

Healing Sketch #14

Planning to make this a pattern.
Or at least try to make it a pattern.

:)

Everyday #3

Baked on a rainy afternoon.
They turned out pretty well and taste especially FABULOUS,
when eaten with apple-cinnamon jam.

Stuff from around the house.

I love writing random stuff, thoughts, things I'd like to remember etc. on the blackboard from time to time.

The bear's name is 'Brownie'. I've had him since I was 3 or something.
A gift from my uncle, from his trip to Germany in the early '80s.
He's wearing a sweater my grand mom knitted for me when I was a baby.

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle is another childhood remnant. Belonged to my sister, actually. This one's Rafael I think.

One of the cat's in the trio is missing its ears. Thanks to Dad & Sis.

The piggy bank is another favourite from childhood.

You can't tell, but head of the little doggie (one among the set of three) in the front is glued on. His head was sliced clean off when a plate I'd hung on a faulty nail on the wall above fell.

And yes, that is Scooby-Doo. He has a detachable head that bobs up and down. Courtesy Sis.

Everyday #2: It Rained Last Night

It rained last night and there was a full moon out.
This is my attempt at capturing it on my Nikon Coolpix!
:)

As I was looking out the window, the street lamp caught my eye. Particularly loved the negative and positive spaces formed by the night and the light form the lamp.
Annoyingly, I wasn't able to get a single focused shot, but I kind of like this one among the blurry ones!

Illustration Friday: Wide & Electricity, Healing Sketch #11 & MOO Laptop Sticker Competition

(Click on image for a closer look)

Text reads:

"Pretty Miss Kitty conserves electricity
by hanging her wash out to dry."

Well, this illustration certainly misses the mark by a wide margin as far as the new topic is concerned. In fact, I think it would be correct to say that this illustration is wide of the new topic!

But wait a minute, conserving electricity has to have a wide range of benefits right? Right?

And hey! Miss Kitty is wide-eyed!

:D

There.
The perfect illustration for 'wide', no?!!
No?

*Sigh*

I posted this for 'Electricity' and then realized the topic had already changed to 'Wide'.

Humour me, will ya?

:)

In other news, looks like two of my stickers won in the MOO Laptop Sticker Competition!! I thought only one had. And oh, 'Billy' did'nt win apparently, 'Sean' and 'Valerie' did!

The stickerbook with the winning entries is now available for purchase here.

This is so cool!!!

:D

Radha

Healing Sketch #10

Hello.

Here's a little guy I came up with minutes ago.
Just 'cos I felt like I guess.

In other news, I now have a Flickr pro account, thanks to winning the MOO Sticker competition but have no clue what to do with it.

Does it mean I have to shoot more photographs, draw more illustrations so I can make use of all the perks (more uploads, space, sets etc. etc.) that come with it?

Hmm.

:)

Cheers!

Healing Sketch #9

Text reads:
"Mary Alice Eccle always rides her red bicycle to the market".

Done!
I think I like her.

Healing Sketch #9: Preview

Wasn't able to finish this one today.
And doesn't look like I'll be able to work on it on Sunday or Monday either.
So will probably complete and post the illo on Tuesday.

Thank you all for your wonderful comments on the last two healing sketches! Feedback really does inspire me to keep going!

:)

Cheers,
Radha

Healing Sketch #8: Reynold Reeds Likes Spitting Seeds

Text reads:
"I'm Reynold Reeds. I'm good at spitting seeds."

Aren't you glad I don't write for a living?!

:D

This was based on a doodle (see below) I did while brainstorming for 'Seed'.

I figured I'd colour it in the same style as I did 'Seed' for today's Healing Sketch.

I've tinkered with it for so long, I've lost all sense of judgment as far as its concerned (Does it look washed out? Is there too much happening in the picture etc. etc.) and can't tell if I'm totally happy with it or not anymore.

Also, check out this picture of Leo!

#4 Leo

UPDATE: I've been thinking, and I think I like this cropped version much better!!
:D

If Leo were to see this, do you think he'd let me keep it up on the internet?

Illustration Friday: Seed, Healing Sketch #7 & MOO Sticker Competition

(Click image for a closer look)

She said, "Mark my words, leave the seeds to the birds."
But he paid no heed, he swallowed a seed.

After all the fooling around of the last few days (in terms of styles), it felt so good to go back to one of my primary styles!
:)

Had a lot of fun with this.

In other news, I'm one of the 90 winner's of the MOO Sticker Design Competition! One of my stickers made it into the limited edition StickerBook! Woo hoo!

Below are the designs I submitted.

I originally made these(among others) when I won a MOO promotional pack (the prize offer expires in June and I haven't claimed it yet! Yikes!), in one of the random draws on the Illustration Friday blog, and when I stumbled upon the sticker competition, I decided to enter them on a whim.

'Billy' won! :)

Guess I've been lucky lately!

And oh, I'd like to say a huge 'Thank you' to everyone who's taken time to drop by and leave a comment over the last few days! Your feedback never fails to make my day!

:D

Cheers,
Radha

UPDATE: Another take on the same topic in the same style here.

Healing Sketch #6: Lil' Girl Glad

Well, really, what DID you expect after 'Sad' ('Blue') & 'Mad'?
:D

Not a 100% sure about the colour version, but this will have to do for now.
:)

Radha

Healing Sketch #4: Lil' Girl Blue

I started out with the sketch on the left and ended up with the girl on the right.
I don't know why she's blue either.
