The topic over at 'Inspire Me Thurs' this week is 'Bringing Child’s Art to Life'.
"This week, let us be inspired by South Korean photographer Yeondoo Jung’s series Wonderland, a collection of amazing photographs in which he brilliantly brings children’s crayon drawings to life. "
I know! Cool, right?
So cool, I had to give it a shot.
So here goes.

Felt pen/Markers on paper
Drawing made by a little me a long long time ago.
(I don't remember exactly when this picture was made, but I think it would be safe to say its from at about 11-14 years ago)

Digital Vector
It's reproduction by the 23 year old me of today!
Ta-da!
Hmm.
Are you thinking you like the original one better?
Sigh.
Yeah, me too.
:)
More drawings from the early years below:

The paper is a bit yellowed due to years of storage (found these in a truck full of books at my grandparents place) but the scan really isn't doing some of those florescent marker colours any justice!
I'm thinking I ought to frame one of these.
I'm kinda partial to the last one with the turkey/peacock bird and strange creature in oranges and blues.
What do about you?
:D
Cheers,
Radha

Great job! Isn't it fun looking at all our childhood art???
ReplyDeletehad fun looking through your blog and simply LOVE Leo! What a good boy!! Give him a pat for me.
I threw a bunch away from high school and I kick myself every day for it!
ReplyDeleteI love your sense of color! This is fabulous. Love all of them, but I'm with you..the last one is a real prize!
ReplyDeleteAwww, these are soooo cool. It's evident that your talent came early. I can see your budding creativity and great color sense. What a fun project to redraw one. I like what you did. Obviously more sophisticated while keeping a childlike wonder. Good stuff Radha!
ReplyDeleteHi Radha. I love what you've done here. The whole post is great - loved seeing all the pictures from when you were young. What you've got here is so similar to what I put on my blog. We're the same age too! Perhaps there was a particular style of childs art in the eighties! :) Glad to have come across your wonderful blog in cyberspace and looking forward to seeing more of your art.
